Is it safe to have services done during Covid?
As a state licensed Aesthetician since 2005, safety + sanitation have always been the top priority when rendering services to our clients. In light of the current climate, Carrie will ask a few Covid related safety questions prior to services. As your personal stylists, she will wear a mask as well as a shield whenever performing makeup + hair services. A freshly laundered styling drape, clean tools and a sanitized work station will be provided for each client. Makeup will only be applied using methods that can ensure no cross-contamination. For hair, sanitized brushes + combs will be used for each client. In an environment where running water and soap are not available, hand sanitizer + clean gloves will be used for each client. All dirty implements will be placed in a container and thoroughly cleaned, sanitized +/or disinfected off-site. In addition, noone is permitted to touch our working area or kits, since everything has been sanitized +/or disinfected to follow the strict protocols we must adhere to. With the exception of wearing masks prior to Covid, these are protocols that have always been at the core of her operating values.
As things continue to change, protocols outlined and regulated by the State Board of Barbering + Cosmetology as well as state + county guidance will be followed in order to maintain a safe environment on site.
Please note: Carrie is not permitted to service anyone who has a fever, shortness of breath, or has been in contact with anyone who has symptoms or has tested positive for Covid within 10 days.
What should a client look for when selecting a professional makeup + hair artist?

Know that today, all photos + media is Ultra HD and your makeup will register different on camera than it will in person. This is definitely a time to budget accordingly for a seasoned artist who is licensed, insured and is skilled in the technique and products necessary to make you look your best throughout your recorded event.

If a client doesn’t usually wear a lot of makeup, will they still feel comfortable?
The majority of Carrie's clients don’t usually wear a full face of makeup every day, however application is really customized to what each client wants specifically therefore she can apply as little or as much makeup as is requested. Never overdone or understated, the end result will be a polished look that perfectly matches the style and theme of your event.
Does Carrie offer airbrush services and how is it different from traditional makeup?
Yes, Carrie is professionally trained and twice certified in airbrush makeup techniques. Airbrush is a gentle tool that is used to deliver a fine mist of makeup to the skin. It provides flawless, high-definition coverage that is light weight and extremely long lasting. There are a few different formulas of makeup that can be used with the airbrush machine however for her bridal clients, Carrie prefers working with silicone based makeup which is the only formula that is truly water-resistant. Don't be fooled by imitations, professional airbrush makeup lines such as Keto, Temptu Pro and Make-Up Designory are among the brands intended for pro-artist use and that is why Carrie offers these lines as her airbrush makeup of choice.
What is “photo-friendly" or "camera-ready” makeup and is it really necessary for photos + video?
Your makeup will look different in person than it does on camera. Consumer friendly retail cosmetics are intended for everyday use and most are not compatible with flash photography or HD lenses. This means that although your powder or foundation might look great to the naked eye, the product ingredients can create a flash back against professional camera lighting making your skin appear pale or ashy. As an educated professional makeup artist with extensive ingredient knowledge, Carrie knows exactly which products work best for HD photography, TV and video and will choose from her beauty arsenal accordingly.
What kind of makeup + hair products does Carrie Aldous use?

A trial also allows for a much faster, more relaxed application on the day-of, as Carrie will already have your desired look documented. Please note that booking a trial alone does not reserve your wedding date.
